Trucker Charity Inc will be working with those interested to formalize the 2011 Christmas Group. Eldon Mcfarling is the director of the Christmas Group. He was nominated and accepted the position at MATS. Now Eldon needs a top notch team to work with. All the current folks that were envolved with the past successfull years are wanted to be on the committee. We also seek more to join in on the help. While we have had a few minor glitches in the past year. We have them worked out. and want 2011 to be the best year yet and also set stones for many years to come.
Yet, we want all to get involved to help us make sure things are outlined right. We are working on the committee for the Christmas group. While we hope all that have been part of the Christmas Group in the past will be involved. We will also add some new folks. The number is not yet determined. We hope those interested will help us come to a solution in this matter. No board member of Trucker Charity Inc will be on the voting group for the Christmas Group. That removes Myself Lance Wood, George Geiger and Kerry Mullins out of the voting.
We as truckers have done a great job in the past 3 years doing this great cause on a shirt sleeve. We will now be more focused and energized with an outline plan. Some may not know the amount of energy it takes to make the Christmas Group happen. Let me just say. Its a ton of work and well worth it. Its emotionally hard, time consuming and makes your heart fill great!
Greg Manchester has for the last two years assisted us in a great method to vote online that takes the personal aspect out of the equation. We hope to use this same platform this year and for many to come.
Fund raising has been an issue in recent years. While we did a great job raising funds in the 3-6 weeks over the last 3 years. We will now raise funds all year for this great cause. We will host Christmas in July as a start to raise funding. We have some ideas on great ways to do this. We will also not offer any items that are not in stock at our head quarters or instock at 3rd parties. This has caused problems in the past.
We will also have written qualifying requirements for those that will be considered. In the past we did this year to year with no real direction. We did a great job. We are now going to do an even better job.
We want all to be involved. We will be having a conference call in about 2 weeks to plan the qualifications and written mission pro-to-cal for the Christmas Group. Its easy to get your self involved. Just fill out this simple form and check the "Help With Christmas Group"
